General Guidelines
Consent and Privacy
All patrons, staff, and visitors have a right to privacy. Photography or recording that includes identifiable individuals necessitates their consent. Additionally, photographs, videos, or audio recordings of minors may only be taken with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Library Property
Individuals are welcome to photograph or record library materials, exhibits, programs, and public areas. However, it is essential not to disrupt library operations or other patrons while capturing images or recordings.
Events and Programs
Library staff may photograph or record programs and events for promotional, archival, or educational purposes. If you prefer not to be included in any photographs or recordings, please inform staff prior to the event.
Social Media & Online Sharing
When sharing library-related photos or recordings online, it is important to respect individuals' privacy and to refrain from posting identifiable images without their consent.
Prohibited Uses
Any photography or recording that harasses, intimidates, or infringes upon the privacy of patrons or staff is strictly forbidden. Furthermore, commercial use of images or recordings of library facilities, staff, or patrons requires prior approval from the Library Director.
Library Staff Responsibility
Library staff are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of all patrons. They will intervene in instances where photography or recording violates this policy or encroaches on another's privacy.
