Current Programs
Our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a great way to get your kids reading early! We also have incentives for that program in the ReadSquared app and are excited to offer this program to help you and your children develop a love of reading! There are special "brag tags" for every 100 books read, and other incentives along the way. Our library chooses not to limit your choices to a book list so that you have the freedom to allow your child to pick their favorites.
For ages 2-2nd grade, the 2X2 books on the list can be read to small children, as well as read by young readers. The list was developed to give parents, caregivers and teachers a curated list of quality books. They are excellent books for storytime at the library or school, bedtime with a parent or grandparent or fun reading at any time. Our library has a "brag tag" for each book on the list, so encourage your child to read them all!
Teen Night at the library is an evening reserved for the library to give them a structured environment outside their home with friends. Through the program, they are given an opportunity to learn and enhance skills they may need once they have graduated high school. A few of the skills learned will be workforce development, digital literacy, and traditional literacy. This group's schedule changes depending on the schedule of activities at school.
Live it Up @ the Library allows Tweens to learn similar skills to the teens at an age appropriate level. It is a safe and structured environment set up to allow the children a place to spend time with friends while also learning skills to help them to succeed. This group's schedule changes depending on the schedule of activities at school.
