Water, Sewer & Garbage Service
To start water, sewer, and garbage services with the City of Gatesville, submit the required information in person or by email to the Utility Billing Department.
Required Documents
- Copy of your Lease or Purchase Agreement (must show occupants/owners and property address)
- Copy of your Driver’s License
- Contact phone number
- Employer name
- Employer phone number
Fees & Deposits
Deposits may be waived with a 12-month letter of credit.
Payment & Service Activation
Deposits can be paid over the phone for Residential or Commercial accounts, or you may bring the documents and payment in person to City Hall.
Once all required items are received, your account will be set up. Services can be turned on the same day as long as payment is received by 4:00 PM.

Waste Management Services
Trash within the city limits of Gatesville is collected by Centex Waste Management.
Collected weekly according to your zone.
Collected every other week on your trash day.
Monthly pickup for bulk items and brush bundles.
Special materials collected through At Your Door service.
Collection Guidelines
- Each household receives a 96-gallon trash cart and a 96-gallon recycling cart with a yellow lid.
- Place carts at the curb the night before or by 7:00 AM on pickup day.
- Bag all trash before placing it in the cart.
- Do not bag recyclables — place them loose in the recycling cart.
- Leave 3 feet of space between carts and obstacles.
- No additional waste outside the cart will be collected.

♻️ Recycling is collected on your trash day every other week. On recycling weeks, place both carts at the curb.
Bulk & Brush Guidelines
- Maximum of 4 cubic yards per month
- Bundles must be under 40 lbs
- Branches must be less than 3 inches in diameter
- Cut brush into 3-foot bundles
- Leaves and clippings must be bagged
Hazardous Waste Collection
Waste Management provides the At Your Door service for disposing of household hazardous materials such as paint, household cleaners, batteries, electronics, automotive fluids, and garden chemicals.
