Board of Adjustments
The Board of Adjustments (BOA) is a quasi-judicial body authorized by the City Council to, in appropriate cases and subject to appropriate conditions and safeguards, to make interpretations, correct errors, approve variances and special exceptions to the terms of the zoning ordinance that are consistent with the general purpose and intent of the ordinance and in accordance with any applicable rules contained in the ordinance. The Board, subject to the standards established in Chapter 211 of the Texas Local Government Code, shall have the authority to exercise powers and perform the following duties listed in this section.
The BOA consists of five regular members and two alternate members to the Board. The Council shall appoint members to fill unexpired terms in the event of vacancies. A Board member shall continue to serve until a successor has been appointed and approved by the City Council.
The BOA typically hosts regular meetings once month, as needed. Some meetings may be scheduled on different dates to accommodate federal holidays. Regular meetings are typically hosted either in person at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 110 N 8th Street, Gatesville TX 76528. All regular meetings are open to the public
