Thank you for visiting the home page of the Gatesville Police Department. It is an honor to serve the citizens, businesses, and visitors of the City of Gatesville. Gatesville encompasses a land area of 8.7 miles and is the County Seat of Coryell County.  The City also borders the north side of Fort Cavazos, the largest military base in the world.

The police department employs 31 full-time positions and is organized into three major divisions: Patrol, Investigations, and Administration.  The employees of the Gatesville Police Department serve the public with dignity, fairness, and respect. Quality customer service is our goal with continued emphasis on our law enforcement mission and community policing.

It is the mission of the employees of the Gatesville Police Department to serve the people of our community with respect, fairness, and compassion. We are committed to the protection of life and property, the preservation of public order, crime prevention, enforcement of laws and ordinances, and protecting the constitutional rights of all persons.

With customer service as our focus, we are committed to investigating problems as well as incidents, seeking solutions and fostering a sense of security for our citizens and our community. We hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards of performance, ethics, and character thus earning public trust.

To fulfill our mission, the Gatesville Police Department is dedicated to providing a positive work environment and to the professional development of its members through quality training and participative leadership.
