Pat Neff
Governor Pat Neff (1871-1952) was born on land that is now Mother Neff State Park, the first one in Texas. It was originally owned by his mother, Isabella, who donated it to create the public area known to so many of us. He served one term as Governor and later became a much-honored President of Baylor University. Books are available on Pat Neff by David Scott, editor of the Gatesville Messenger.
