In May 2021, the City of Gatesville was presented with the Governor’s Community Achievement Award. TXDOT awarded a grant for the construction of the Hwy 36 Monument
at no cost to the City. The award was based on the City’s and Keep Gatesville Beautiful’s efforts in recycling, litter prevention, and beautification. The monument was completed earlier this year, and now is the time to dedicate it to the public and honor the work of those who made it possible!
