Did you know that each signal from the outdoor warning system (OWS) has a different meaning?

Signal  Meaning  Action
3-minute wail...a high tone increasing in pitch Natural Disaster: Such as a tornado, high wind, hail, or flash flood warning Take immediate protective action.
3-minute attach...a wavering siren tone, warbling in pitch National Emergency: Information will come from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Take immediate protective action. Tune in to radio or TV Emergency Alert System (EAS). 
3-minute alert...a steady siren signal  Hazardous Chemical Spill Tune in to your local radio or TV.
3-minute hi/lo...a series of alternating high/low siren signals All clear All danger or test is clear. 
3-minute slow whoop...a slow whoop siren tune  This is a test.  Sirens will be sound tested 1st Tuesday of every month at 12 noon.
