School Resource Officer

The Gatesville Police Department is seeking certified Texas Peace Officers to fill the role of a School Resource Officer.  The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work with students K-12 in an effective and positive manner.  The SRO will be assigned to one of five campuses, and will be tasked with assisting school administration in providing a safe, productive learning environment for students and employees.  Currently, the City employs a total of five SRO’s.  The SRO also serves as the Department’s liaison, who performs general patrol/investigative duties and responsibilities, and maintains open communications with Gatesville ISD administrators to provide assistance in handling law enforcement related problems.  When school is not in session, the SRO will be assigned to work patrol or other police related duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.  Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
